I just got my poetry analysis essay back and to be honest I was a little disappointed when I first skimmed it because it looked like there was a lot of mistakes. When I actually read through the comments and had a conference with Ms. McCulligh I realized that that were not only correcting but adding more background information and perspectives to my work. It is extremely beneficial so I encourage all to comment on my work!

When I was writing my essay a few new questions developed like
What causes such resilience in women?
Why were they so afraid to speak up for such long periods of time?
Does it take more strength to resist society or to simply conform to the role given (even though against the will of the individual)?

Hey miss how would this sound for a thesis: Women in dystopian poetry realize thier true self-worth and fight society for the equality deserved. (desired)? I need some tips, do I have to mention that my poems/song is written by women? Or that In this particular batch of texts they all happen to be fighters? Thanks just comment on my page or shoot me and email, [email protected] Me
I think your thesis for the poetry analysis is great: Women in dystopian poetry realize thier true self-worth and fight society for the equality desired. I would definitely mention that the poems are written by women (showing their voice from the sources). In your final product, you might want to mention the different between the representation of women in dystopian fiction texts vs. dystopian poetry. Perhaps there is even a historical connection... the novels were written in times when women weren't as equal to men, whereas the poems were written during or after the women's rights movement. Your inquiry project is coming along pretty awesomely :) - Ms. McCulligh
